FAQS

You’ve Got Questions - I’ve Got Answers

I know that choosing a new physician can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. That’s why I want you to rest assured that you’ve chosen well.

Direct Primary Care may be new to you, but to us, it is the right way to get you the personalized care you deserve.

Below you’ll find answers to some of the frequently asked questions. I’ve been able to cover quite a few topics, but if there’s something I haven’t touched on, please don’t hesitate to ask.

WHAT IS DIRECT PRIMARY CARE?

Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a model of healthcare that puts patients first by getting rid of the red tape that constrains traditional practices. How? It's simple: you pay one time yearly membership fee – believe it or not – this actually saves you money in the long run.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?

You're welcome to submit any bill from J&R Pediatrics to your insurance for  reimbursement or count towards your deductibles… But that’s entirely up to the insurance company and what they decide to do with those invoices.

I ALREADY HAVE A INSURANCE PLAN. HOW IS J&R PEDIATRICS BENEFICIAL TO ME?

One of the biggest advantages of direct primary care is its ability to give your direct 24 x 7 access to your pediatrician. You get same day or next day appointments, un-rushed visits and help you to avoid long and expensive emergency rooms and urgent cares visits.

I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE - CAN I STILL JOIN?

Yes, we take care of any patient regardless of your insurance situation. You don't need insurance to be our member. However, we recommend that everyone have insurance coverage, which is still important in the event of a major health issue.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CONTINUE MY CURRENT INSURANCE? CAN I USE IT?

Not for our services, but J&R Pediatrics will be able to order your child's labs, x-rays and medications at the facilities preferred by your insurance if you would like. You can also submit any bill from J&R Pediatrics to your insurance for reimbursement.

IS THE MEMBERSHIP FEE ELIGIBLE FOR HSA OR FSA REIMBURSEMENT?

Yes, it is.

SO HOW MUCH DOES MEMBERSHIP COST?

The whole year membership costs you less than one urgent care visit or a fraction of emergency room visit !!

Talk to us, call or come and meet us in person. We charge a flat yearly fee, and in exchange you get unlimited office visits and a whole lot more.

WHAT DOES THE MEMBERSHIP FEE COVER?

The fee covers excellent primary care through office visits with no copay. This includes the following: annual wellness exams, vaccinations, sports physicals, school physicals, chronic care office visits, follow-up visits, basic office procedures and treatment of acute illness or minor injuries, all with minimal wait times in the office. The fee also covers direct communications with your doctor: phone, text, video chat or email.

WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP NOT INCLUDE?

Membership also doesn't include any medical expense outside the J&R pediatrics, like pharmacy, lab and blood work, urgent care or emergency room visits, hospitalizations.

HOW DO I JOIN THE PRACTICE?

Use https://pdf.ac/k7pk7 to join our membership.

Dr. Verma personally speaks with all prospective families prior to signing up. This complimentary consultation provides an opportunity for both parties to determine if they will be a good fit for one another.

HOW DO I PAY MEMBERSHIP?

Membership fees are charged to your bank account or credit card.

Cash payments need to be made for full year in advance.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?

Yes, membership can be cancelled at anytime provided a 90 day notice is given. However, a 6 month initial commitment is required when first joining the practice. Shorter cancellation notices will be considered on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances.

DO STILL NEED HEALTH INSURANCE?

Yes. We recommend that you do have insurance to comply with Federal Law.  J&R Pediatrics membership does not replace insurance, and ideally we encourage our patients to carry a high deductible or major medical plan or a plan with a health savings account, thereby ensuring financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary. You should consult with your insurance provider to help you find a plan that works best with our medical model and that will meet your specific needs.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DIRECT PRIMARY CARE?

WHAT IF MY CHILD GETS HOSPITALIZED?

Dr. Verma will help coordinate care in the hospital, but patients will be cared for by a hospitalist –doctors who only see patients in the hospital.  Dr. Verma will resume care as the patients transition out of the hospital.

WHAT IF DR. VERMA IS SICK OR ON VACATION?

We will do our best to notify families in advance of any planned absences. Dr. Verma may still be available via email, phone and text during her absence.
